Real-time fluorescence quantitative PCR (Quantitative Real-time PCR) is an instrument that adds fluorescent dyes or fluorescent probes to the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and uses the accumulation of fluorescent signals to detect the entire PCR reaction process in real time. It is widely used in molecular diagnosis, molecular biology research, animal and plant quarantine, and food safety testing.

The principle is that the light emitted by light sources such as lasers or LEDs passes through a specially designed excitation interference filter, passes through the reaction cup and excites the fluorescent group in it, and the fluorescence emitted by the fluorescent group passes through a matching emission interference filter and is received by the photodetector.
Data is collected once for each reaction cycle, and the CT value is accurately determined through the real-time amplification curve, so that the starting copy number of DNA is determined based on the established standard curve using the CT value, achieving true DNA quantification. PCR cleverly combines nuclear amplification with hybridization, spectral analysis and real-time detection technology, and uses fluorescent signals to detect PCR products.
